About Trails

Imagine being a young teen living an uncertain present and anticipating a bleak future. Now imagine if somebody gives you a chance. For over 26 years, we've been equipping vulnerable youth from the Toronto region with the skills to overcome obstacles
and create a better future.

We are unique because our programme focuses on prevention and involves a long-term commitment to mentoring youth, in small groups, one weekend per month, ten days each summer and for four years. Trails offers permanence to youth who may experience little, if any, constants in their lives.

The Programme;
• Curriculum (earning 4.0 high school credits over their 5 years)
• Environmental Stewardship
• Yoga and mindfulness
• Stress management and coping strategies
• Wilderness canoe/kayak/camping experiences
• Equipment and extra clothing
• Food-over 100 home cooked meals
• A variety of activities spanning over 4 seasons- (ie; swimming, hiking, scavenger hunts, canoeing, high ropes, cross country skiing, snow shoeing, field games
• Participation in community service projects

The Result?

Over 90 percent of our youth complete high school and go on to attend post-secondary education.
